Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we flew up to Utah and then drove to Washington to visit my grandparents. We had a very fun and relaxed Thanksgiving. It's always good to sit and chat with my grandparents about life. We also played lots of card games, set up their Christmas decorations and of course ate good food. I am kicking myself now that I realize I hardly took any photos but here are a few from our visit.

Also here is our happy little Landon showing you all what he does best! He loves laughing and does it daily. We love how contagious it is and how much happier he makes us.

Cop and Robbers

We had a really fun Halloween this year. We went to a few parties with friends including a kids carnival at a school. Landon was a little young for some of the activities but there were a few stations that were perfect for his age. He had so much fun with the play-doh and the creepy bugs.

Since Landon was a police officer this year, Peter and I thought we could throw together some cheap and easy robber costumes to complete the family theme. Although it didn't turn out quite as cute as I had imagined, I definitely feel like it makes it a lot more fun when the whole family gets involved and dresses up together. Regardless of the cheesiness level, we had a fun Halloween.

The Birthday Boy!

Happy 1st Birthday to our sweet Landon! We are so grateful to have Landon as our first child. He is seriously such a joy to be around and I often get asked if he is ever not happy. He is so well behaved and has honestly been a very easy baby to take care of ever since he was born. This past year has been so amazing watching him grow into a little boy full of energy. Today we spent our time together as a family, eating cake, opening a few gifts and playing with our little boy.

Happy Birthday Landon!
We love you more than you will ever know!

Our Little Family

Peter's family is currently in the process of moving from North Carolina to Nevada. Peter's dad had to leave before the rest of the family in order to start work at his new job and was able to stop by and visit us for a couple days on his way. We loved spending time with him and we were really grateful that he was willing to take a few family photos for us with his nice camera. Especially since these will probably be our last nice family photos as just the three of us! We are adding another little baby to our family! Landon will be getting a little brother in March and we could not be more thrilled! We will have a more detailed update on this announcement a little later on but for now here are some of our favorites from our little photo session.

Landon's First Haircut

Landon's hair was starting to get pretty long and it was also super uneven which was driving me nuts, so we decided it was time to give him a little trim. I didn't know how it would go but after setting up a Baby Einstein video on the iPad he sat still and it went very smoothly. I'm glad I was able to be the one to give him his first haircut. Lately it's been evident to me and Peter that Landon's not really a baby anymore. A little sad to see him getting older, but so much fun to watch him experience so many firsts as he gains confidence in exploring the world around him.

Our Colorado Life

Ok I know I'm terrible about blogging these days but I'm going to start being better now that we are settled into our life here in Colorado. To start off, I was seriously dreading the drive from Massachusetts to Denver. I mean 30+ hours of driving honestly sounds miserable to me, however I was shocked at how painless it was and how quickly it actually went by! Landon did awesome! He may have watched 30+ hours of Baby Einstein on the IPad but I don't care, we survived and that's what matters here. One bonus of driving was that we got to stop at the sacred grove on the way! I was so excited that we were able to go take a family walk through such an amazing church historical site! I'm so glad we made the stop!

Now that we are here in Colorado and moved in and everything I could not be happier that we are living somewhere so special to me. I love being able to spend time with old friends and just be back where I have called home for so long. We live just 15 minutes away from my parents old house and it has been so fun to make memories out here with my own family. We went to the zoo for Labor Day and it was such a blast. I didn't know if Landon would be very interested but he loved every minute of it! It was so cool to take him somewhere that I have been going since I was little!

Peter is of course back in school now too and he is so glad he transferred to DU. He loves the campus and his teachers. He is definitely busy but whenever he comes home, he and Landon act like best buds and play and wrestle all night long. They are so cute together, it kills me! Needless to say we are so happy about our move here and we couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity!
