For the 4th of July this year we barbecued at home and then went to the city event where there was a concert, food vendors, a car show and of course fireworks. My mom bought the boys cute matching outfits to wear for the day. But seriously who doesn't love BBQ, spending time at a park people watching and fireworks? We definitely had a great time celebrating America and I'm pretty sure Landon clapped through almost the entire firework show which was a good fifteen minutes so you could say he enjoyed himself too.
A few weeks ago the boys and I went to Washington for a Hague family reunion. Unfortunately Peter couldn't come because of work. We flew out to Utah and then drove with my parents the rest of the way. I was nervous to fly with both boys by myself but they did great both ways thankfully. It was really awesome to spend time with my mom's side of the family. There's nothing like getting together as cousins, not to mention all the free babysitting. Just kidding, but in all honesty the boys loved all the attention and people around. I could probably write a lot more about all we did and how fun it was but Landon is currently pulling on my shirt probably because he wants a snack and neither one of us has changed from our pjs so I'll just keep it short. We loved seeing everyone and want to say thank you to all those who planned and hosted to make it easy for everyone to get together.
After the reunion ended, we had some time to spend with some of my siblings and the boys got to see their cousins for a couple days which is always fun. Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us tag along and helping out with the boys! We miss you already!
We loved our time visiting family but we were also so excited to get home to see Peter. Landon's reaction to seeing his daddy was so touching. He ran into Peter's arms and literally didn't let go for fifteen minutes or more. He wrapped those little arms around Peter's neck and wouldn't even loosen his grip for Peter to look at his face. They have quite the special bond and I love it. It's good to be home again and spend some quality time as the four of us.
I'm playing catch up here a little bit but Peter's Birthday was last month and to celebrate I surprised him with some indoor skydiving. Someday when we are rich (haha) I will surprise him with real skydiving. However he had fun and it gave him a small adrenaline fix. We also went to Tucanos for his free birthday dinner and finished off the night with an oreo ice cream cake.
Love you Peter!
